Problem
The Blueworx Voice Response product logs a 17605 error when a known good T1 cable is connected to the DTTA card.
Symptom
The following error message is written to $OAM_LOG_PATH/errorlog:

Cause
Incorrect installation of the internal H.100 four-port cable
Environment
- A pSeries system configured to use multiple Blueworx Voice Response LPARs, and each instance has, at least, one DTTA card assigned to it.
- An internal H.100 cable used to connect the DTTA cards together.
- Two or more T1 cables used to connect the Blueworx Voice Response instances to the telephone switch.
Diagnosing the problem
The following describes a two-LPAR and two-DTTA card scenario:
- When one Blueworx Voice Response instance is started, and a T1 cable is plugged into the adapter, no error is generated. However, when the second instance is started, and a T1 cable is plugged into the second adapter card, the 17605 error is continuously logged. It is always the second instance that logs the failure.
- Even though the initial diagnosis indicates that the problem is outside of the Blueworx Voice Response product, all switch tests and cable checks confirm that the clock signal is good and the cables are not faulty.
- The actual problem is that when the second T1 is plugged into the adapter, the clock sync process on the first adapter causes a conflict on the second adapter due to signalling sent to it via the internal H.100 cable. Since the two adapters are supposed to be running in their own instances, the H.100 cable is not required.
- The H.100 cable would only be required if the two DTTA cards were running in the same Blueworx Voice Response LPAR instance.
Resolving the problem
- Shutdown the server.
- Remove the internal H.100 cables used to connect the DTTA cards together.
- Restart the server.
- Restart Blueworx Voice Response.
